TC Bradley, Media and Publishing Expert, Discusses Publishing and Media Innovations
Posted on April 9, 2015 byWe recently sat down with publishing and media expert TC Bradley. TC is the CEO and President of InstantCelebrityStatus.com and is the upcoming author of the soon-to-be-published book Instant Celebrity Status!: Establish Your DOMINANCE in Your Local Market by Using Major Media and Becoming a Best-Selling Author!
Lisa: Welcome TC. Please tell us a little about your background.
TC: Thanks Lisa, I have a pretty diverse background but will give you a brief overview. After relocating to Florida from Chicago, my wife and I started a national direct sales company, which we grew to 1.6 million dollars in sales within the first 6 months, only to lose that company to a bad partnership. At the time of losing that company, the company was averaging 100k in sales a day, so that was a very tough experience to recover from. Instead of wallowing in my sorrows, I started investing in real estate, successfully, and in 2003, I launched my first website and successfully sold over a million dollars of product from my first product.
Lisa: Losing a multi-million dollar company must have been hard to overcome.
TC: It was, Lisa. Betrayal is hard for anyone to overcome, especially at that scale, but I knew a man like my ex-partner would never succeed long term, and I was right. Within 2 years, my ex-partner closed the business. Meanwhile, I invested in over a million dollars in real estate and developed my first product and website, which sold over a million dollars of product, and really, I have never looked back from that devastating moment.
Lisa: I have heard that success is the best form of revenge. Is that true?
TC: No Lisa it is not. Massive success is the best revenge. In business and in life, sometimes you must make a statement, especially to the ones that doubt you or that take advantage of you, and nothing speaks louder than massive success.
Lisa: How did you transition into media and publishing?
TC: Internet marketing has changed dramatically since I went online in 2003. Back then, if you had a halfway decent website and product and could drive traffic to the website, you could make money. That is not the case today. It is no longer good enough to be found on Google, because your competitors are there too. People will research until they can find a leader or expert to do business with. Today, when a buyer lands on your website, you have 10 seconds to establish yourself as the leader or authority that they are looking to do business with.
Lisa: Can you give me an example of this?
TC: Sure, Lisa, let’s take an attorney. If you ever require the services of an attorney, who you retain matters. So when a buyer is researching attorneys, they are not just looking for any attorney who supplies the service, but they are looking for leaders or authorities that provide the best service. We want the best attorney that our money can buy. This is where most marketers get it wrong today. They are busy marketing services instead of marketing their leadership or authority. Remember this, Lisa, people always want to do business with a leader and will pay premium prices to do so.
Lisa: How does one establish their leadership in their market?
TC: If you are really serious about making a dent in the universe, then becoming a published best-selling author is non-negotiable. It separates you from your competition and changes how clients and prospective clients view you. It presents you in such a powerful way that simply cannot be denied and your competition cannot compete against.
Getting featured in major media can also elevate your leadership status, if done the right way.
Lisa: How can you do it in the wrong way?
TC: Lisa, there is a major difference between you calling yourself the expert or leader and someone else calling you the leader or expert. This small distinction makes all of the difference in world for our clients.
Lisa: You are quoted as saying that you can do in 90 days what used to take people 5 to 10 years to do, if that. How is that even possible?
TC: The Internet has compressed time as we know it. What I mean by this is that things move at a much higher velocity than they did before the Internet existed. For example, to reach a million people with your marketing message would have taken you years to do, if ever, and would have cost you a LOT of money. Today, a viral video with your marketing message can reach a million people within days. Publishing and media have changed, and if you understand those changes – and I do – then you can have GREAT results.
Lisa: Please share with us some of your recent results.
TC: Last month was a busy month for us, as we created 15 Amazon #1 best-selling authors with business books, and in the process, we topped such giants as Stephen Covey, Jack Welch, Anthony Robbins, and even Phil Jackson. Even if it was only for a day, that is quite an accomplishment that not too many folks can say, but my 15 clients can say it because it is true.
Lisa: Wow TC, that’s impressive!
TC: I agree with you, Lisa, but our website is filled with such client testimonials.
Lisa: Care to share one more story?
TC: Sure, my good friend Stephen J. Young, has closed over 100 million dollars in sales in the last 10 years and credits me for making that possible for him by putting him on the map by establishing a powerful Internet presence for him, which included his website, branding, and his own best-selling book. This opened doors for him that would have never been opened without my guidance, direction, and consulting.
Lisa: So what happens when someone becomes a client of yours?
TC: Once we take on a client, we establish a structure of fulfillment that will result in a new reality being created for our client. Who they were before they met me will no longer exist. That is exactly what happened with Stephen J. Young, and it certainly happened with those 15 best selling authors.… Their lives will never be the same – never.
Lisa: With results like that, it sounds like you are busy.
TC: The majority of our business is referral based, and yes, our production schedule is currently a few weeks out, but if I like you and your story, there is always the slim possibility of adjusting our production schedule. In addition, for the first time in years, I have started accepting speaking engagements, and my speaking schedule is also filling up, so yes, I am pretty busy.
Lisa: What is your next book you are releasing?
TC: I am releasing my own business book later this month titled, Instant Celebrity Status!: Establish Your DOMINANCE in Your Local Market by Using Major Media and Becoming a Best-Selling Author!
Lisa: What are your expectations for the book?
TC: I was asked this same question in another interview, Lisa, and my answer never changes. My expectations are simple. I expect this book to be a best-selling book and one of the TOP business books released in 2015, and based on my track record, I would not bet against it.
Lisa: Great answer, TC, and great interview, and I look forward to reading your next book!
TC: Thanks Lisa, I enjoyed it as well.
