A Quick Guide to Setting Up Your First Squeeze Page – Part 3

Welcome Back…Again! We’ve been talking about Squeeze Pages – what they are, why you should care, and why they work so well. In the last issue, we covered why Squeeze Pages work so well, the required elements of one, and what it should look like. I even gave you an example of one of my kick-butt headlines that worked like gangbusters! So this month, we’ll close things out nicely, but start it off here:

What You Need To Make Your Squeeze Page

There’s a few basic, required things you’ll need in order to make your Squeeze Page work. These items include:

  • A Domain Name (or URL). This is the NAME of your website, for example: Google.com or CNN.com are domain names.
  • Web Hosting. This is the storage space that hosts your website files. It’s essential.
  • An Autoresponder. This is the software that automatically works 24/7 to capture all the leads that your Squeeze Page attracts. It also allows you to automatically communicate with these leads in a pre-designated way, as well as by email blast. Very cool!
  • Software or coding skills to build your squeeze page.
  • A Freebie/Giveaway item – something of value that you give away in exchange for their information.
  • A way of delivering what you promised. You’ll need a way to give your prospect the Special Report freebie you offered. It could either be delivered in your follow-up email OR by a ‘Thank You’ page – This is the page your prospect is taken to AFTER they enter their information & click the ‘submit’ button. This page delivers your freebie AND offers them something else. This could be a ‘Special Offer’ page or a sales page.

Those are the things you need to have in order to build your Squeeze Page site.

So now the big question you might have is “Where do I GET all that stuff?”

I’ve got you covered. Here’s a list of Resources that I personally recommend you use to get what you need…

Resources:

Buying a Domain Name: There’s a LOT of companies selling domain names (aka “URL,” for “Uniform Resource Locator”).

There’s SuperSmartDomains.com, GoDaddy, 1and1, NameCheap, and many more. They’re called “Domain Registrars.”

The idea is really simple: Go to the site. Enter in the ideas you have for buying your desired domain name. See if it’s available or not. Buy the one you want. Check your email for the particulars. Then login to your Domain Manager account they give you & tweak the settings you need.

TIP: Personally, I like to brainstorm ideas for domain names, then enter my ideas all at once and see what’s available. If that sounds like it makes sense to you, here’s my favorite place for this:

http://SuperSmartDomains.com > Click on where it says “Bulk Domains” or “Bulk Options.”

Enter in as many domain name ideas you can & click the search button.

See what’s still available & buy the domain(s) you like.

If you don’t want to buy them there, just take the name of the domain(s) you want & go buy them elsewhere, like GoDaddy.

Web Hosting: There’s a lot of places you can buy your domain name, and there’s almost as many places where you get your web hosting. I’ve used several, and one of my absolute favorites is Hostgator.

I’ve set up a special deal for you!

Web Hosting: http://bit.ly/1PennyHost OR http://bit.ly/superhostingdiscount

NOTE: That site will also throw in a free domain name with your purchase! If you use the FIRST link & choose the ‘Baby’ plan, you’ll be able to get your first month for $.01, but your overall cost/month will be higher, and the Baby plan limits you to hosting only ONE domain on there. So for those reasons, I’d actually recommend that you use the 2nd link (superhostingdiscount) and get the ‘Hatchling’ plan, because you’ll not only be able to host as many websites that you like with that, you’ll also pay a lower monthly cost. But the choice is yours.

Autoresponder: The right use of an autoresponder can make all the difference in the world for you. In fact, this is the whole point of a squeeze page – to build up a list of targeted prospects with whom you can communicate on a regular basis. You want to provide value for them, and in exchange, you can occasionally offer them something that will help them while getting some compensation for what you recommend.

So here’s my best recommendation for your Autoresponder services. Use this link & get a 30-Day Free Trial: http://bit.ly/WbqKgV

Don’t worry, they have plenty of tutorials on their site AND plenty of excellent tech support to help you out just about any time you need it.

Building Your Squeeze Page: There’s actually a lot of options on how you can build your Squeeze Page(s). Some free & some paid.

Of course, you should already know that I have the hook-up for you on this. If you want a very simple way to build your squeeze page, go ahead & get access to my FREE Squeeze Page builder here: http://RealEstateSqueezePages.com

If you’re a bit advanced and/or want to have more control over how your squeeze pages look (change the design, etc.), you’ll be able to find all sorts of options out there. One of my personal favorites is to use WordPress. While this is free software, there’s a bit of a learning curve involved with it, and there are SO many ways to update/modify the configuration and functionality of it!

It’s taken me a while to fully master it, so if you have the time & patience, go ahead!

Final Recommendations: Listen, I could go on and on about so many things with regards to Squeeze Pages. But the best way to get good at something important like this is to get started on it.

And now there are two ways you can do this:

  1. You can either Do It Yourself (DIY: Do It Yourself), or
  2. You can find someone to Do It For You (DFY: Done For You).

If you really want to do it yourself, no problem.
